Podcasts, media, and more…

It was brought to my attention that there were problems with some of the download links on the site, mainly for the podcasts. The problem was actually a download counter script that all of a sudden was not allowing any downloads over 20MB.

It could have been fixed, but there were also some browser compatibility issues, and since it was serving no other purpose than ’stroking the ego,’ I decided just to get rid of it altogether. Ego is after all, highly overrated.

All of the podcast links should work correctly now. I’ve edited them on my other sites too. I also added the ability to download them, or play them directly on the page via a flash player. I edited the rest of the media on the site that was available for download so that it has this feature too.

I would like to thank Maria for pointing out the problems with the podcast links, her review/comments, and for her very kind words:

“Jeremy Gratton has the best podcast voice I have ever heard. I only discovered his short skirt as a podcaster just yesterday. What a shame he quit posting podcasts. His voice makes me wanna go ooooh! And his taste for spoken word matches mine. What a shame, no more podcasts from Jeremy!”

Who knows… after I wrap up my new poetry book, Seasons of Change — which is almost ready for its release — I might just get back into doing some podcasts. In the meantime, check out the older ones here.

OTP Update: Ringtones and more…

I’ve redesigned more aspects of the site, including, artist pages, free music pages, lyrics, etc.

For the first time, ALL lyrics from Big-Hired Assassin, Freedom Of Existence, and Jeremy Gratton are now available.

OTP Ringtones are also available and can be checked out at thumbplay.

Big-Hired Assassin’s Post Mortem Blues Of Succession is still causing controversy for spoken word/performance poetry.

You can still Hire An Assassin!

Check out some free OTP music here!

Read reviews/comments, or submit them at the press area.

The American Economy

With all this stuff going on with the economy, I just have to post some lyrics for you to check out.

I added ALL of the lyrics from Big-Hired Assassin, Freedom Of Existence, and my album Buy One, Get One Free to the site.

The lyrics I want to share with you are from Buy One, Get One Free — all directly related to the economy, or at least mentions some of the stuff that that is going on with the current ‘Economic Crisis.’

Buy One, Get One Free has 20 tracks — folk rock — and was recorded between 2004 and 2005. It was released January 26th, 2006.

  • 222 (Peace And Love) – Mentions George W. and his famous ‘nucular‘ comment, along with a million other things like microwave ovens, Christmas trees, pills, and Blockbuster.
  • Off Of My Mountain – One of my favorite ‘rant‘ songs that I’ve done. Love the lyrics.
  • Digital – Bringing the Troops home, war, fear, tv, terror — powerful words.
  • Clock Of Blues – All about ‘punching the clock’ and not wanting to.
  • Spectral Commissioner – You should listen to this one on headphones. Wild… doesn’t go with the album theme, but that’s one of the things I like about it.

Congress unveils rescue bill

As I was updating the site, I had to go through all the lyrics, and check the links. Having all those politicians sitting around talking about corporate greed while our troops fight made me REALLY want to link to a song I wrote in 2005 called Digital.

These lyrics just bring it home for me right now…

Spinning The Wheel…

As you can see, OTP Records has been revamped again. I’m really happy with this version!

Things are mapped out really well and I’ve made it so much easier on myself with the layout and the options. Take a look around, download some music, show some love…

The artist sites have already been simplified just to basically deal with the release of the albums, etc. and this is where I will be doing all my blogging.

I can’t tell you how great it feels to know that this is the only site/area, that I have to update regularly. I actually look really forward to it now!

Those of you that have been with OTP from its inception know how many versions I’ve gone through… little obsessive, I guess…

Been listening to a lot of Amos Lee lately. Brilliant!
